West Mon Matchday Report

Saturday Forgeside traveled the short distance to play West Mon Old Boys. Forgeside rested a few players bring in Richard Nash, Aeron Pearce, Liam Mattravers and Bradley Jenkins. 

 
Forgeside won the toss and selected to play up hill against the wind for the first half and started well wining a few penalties with fullback Morgan Parry striking well putting Forgeside 6 nil up. 
 
Again as in week past Forgeside then switch off and let West Mon run in a try from a mistake. 7-6. Pressure then got to Forgeside with West Mon adding a penalty. 10-6 after 25 minutes. 
 
Forgeside dug in and got a penalty which Parry converted leaving the score 10-9 at half time. 
 
Start of the second half Forgeside made one change with tighthead Darran Walters coming on for David Bub Evans. With the wind and the slope Forgeside started well winning a penalty that Parry kicked 10-12. 
 
Forgeside forwards again stepped up the pressure with driving lineouts and very strong scrummaging. 
 
After a long spell in West Mon 22 Forgeside scored a well worked forwards try from Aeron Pearce.  
 
Again Forgeside switched off and  made too many mistakes letting west mon back into the game with a well worked try. 
 
After this the Forgeside pack took total control with two push overs scored by captain Steve Howard both with Parry adding extra points. The pack then took a driving line out from half way up to the 22 where Liam Trav broke away and run in for the bonus point try.
