Despite the intention to fully support the running of all mini age groups for the start of the 2017-2018 season Forgeside Mini age groups U7-U9 communicated a desire not to continue as Forgeside RFC and relocate and play as Blaenavon RFC.
 
Communication and directive from the WRU district representatives to both clubs meant that ‘mass movement' of players from one club to another was not permitted and players would need to cease playing / de-register for Forgeside RFC for a period before signing with a new club unless sanctioned by Forgeside RFC.
 
Following several meetings between both clubs, Forgeside RFC committee have concluded with support of the district representative that the continuation, growth and participation of rugby within Blaeanvon is paramount and will sanction the movement of Forgeside RFC U7, 8, 9 with immediate effect to Blaeanvon RFC pending the correct registration process as required by the district & WRU.
 
Forgeside RFC will continue to progress, support and grow the existing junior under 12's & mini under 11's sides for school years 5, 6 & 7 throughout this season and beyond.
